This Kipp's Apparatus Polypropylene, or Kipp generator, is labware for preparing small amounts of gases, such as carbon dioxide.

It has 3 chambers orientated vertically, with a stopcock near the top of the middle chamber. Thus you can release gas into the desired lab equipment. The first and top segment is a thistle funnel and bulb structure through which you can pour dilute acid. This reacts with the metal sulphide in the base of the apparatus. The hydrogen sulphide gas from this reaction collects in the middle of the dome for release through a leak-proof stopcock.

The base has a residual outlet capped for easy cleaning. The polypropylene construction makes this Kipp's apparatus sturdy and robust, making it ideal for student use.
